Thank you so much for volunteering to assist with the 2025 Orlando Kite Festival! The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 12th. We kindly request that you also be available for your selected volunteer times on Sunday, April 13th, in the event of rain. All volunteers are requested to join a virtual volunteer meeting on Wednesday, April 9th, before the festival. The meeting will be recorded for those not able to attend.

Minimum Age Requirement
Orlando Kite Festival volunteers must be at least 13 years of age (excluding Delta Gems and Delta Academy)

Description:
Event Set-Up and Breakdown
You may choose to assist with set-up before the festival begins, breakdown after the festival ends, or both. This is an excellent option for those looking to volunteer but are not able to or prefer not to attend the festival itself.

Set-up Volunteers- Will arrive at 7:00 am before the start of the event to assist with setting up vendor tents, festival stations, signage, tables, etc.

Breakdown Volunteers- Will arrive no later than 2:30 pm to help disassemble tents, booths, and stations, and clean up post-event.
Volunteers Working During Festival Hours
Each volunteer will have the opportunity to sign up for 3 shifts.

Shift 1- Morning, 10:00 am to 11:30 am

Shift 2- Midday, 11:00 am to 1:30 pm

Shift 3- Afternoon, 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
You may select only one (1) station per shift. You are not required to choose a station for every shift if you do not plan on staying for the entirety of the festival, or if you would simply like to enjoy the festival as an attendee (Register Here). Please only choose a station for the shift times you will be available and present.
If you want to volunteer in the same section for the entirety of your attendance, you can choose the same station for every shift. Or, if you would like to explore different stations, you can choose a different station for each shift.
Please be aware that there is a limited number of volunteers needed per station, per shift. The number of available slots will be indicated next to each station in parenthesis, e.g. Parking Attendant (2). While we cannot promise everyone will be assigned to their preferred station, we will do our best to accommodate you.
Volunteers are needed for the following stations. The event is split into three (3) shifts. All volunteers must arrive 2 hours before the start of their shift(s). The stations are as follows:

Registration Attendant- Checks registration/tickets from attendees as they enter the event. Seating will be provided. A brief training will take place before the event.

Parking Attendant- Assists in directing traffic towards the designated parking areas for the event and provides general directions for parking locations. Requires standing and walking.

Build and Repair Kites- Assists attendees with repairing broken or damaged kites throughout the festival. This role will require mobility to walk to different guests who need help.

Kite Decorating- Assist attendees in decorating their kites. Will require some mobility to walk to guests who need assistance.

Kite Flying Zone- Responsible for ensuring the safety and accessibility of the kite flying zone. Tasks would include preventing attendees from lounging in this area and offering assistance to those having difficulty flying their kites. Requires extensive movement and mobility.

First Aid and Hydration Station Attendant- Attendant will offer extra support for nurses and keep the flow of attendees coming to hydrate or receive first aid organized. Seating will be provided.

Stroller Attendant- Responsible for the organization and whereabouts of strollers dropped off by guests. Requires minimal mobility.

Nurture Nest (Mom and Baby Zone)- Will assist station leaders with their activities and keep the area clean, organized, and accessible for parents and their babies.

General Runner- Must be prepared to serve as backup for unforeseen technical difficulties and tasks, assist and provide coverage for volunteers at different stations, provide general directions and help to attendees, attend to the bathrooms and washing stations, check in with vendors, etc. Requires extensive movement and mobility.

eSTEAMed Learning Area Attendant- Attendant will support and assist station leaders in activities, providing supplies, and offering guidance to participants.
